A comprehensive evaluation with the development of a full formulation and treatment plan that is holistic in nature.
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy is talk-therapy sessions using an approach tailored to the patient’s needs. This may include elements of supportive, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic, existential, acceptance and commitment, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based therapies, and coping skillsamong others.

Medication Management
The use and monitoring of medications in an evidence-based fashion may be part of a patient’s treatment plan. In addition, when indicated, Dr. Cox may work in concert with colleagues in providing other biologic-based interventions such as brain stimulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation, electroconvulsive therapy) and ketamine.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is a form of psychotherapy designed to help partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship. It aims to address relationship issues, build stronger connections, and potentially help couples decide if they should continue their relationship.


Family Therapy
Family therapy is a form of therapy that involves multiple family members in sessions to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen the overall functioning of the family unit.
Education/Information
Dr. Cox provides information, instruction, and education about mental health and medical issues, conditions, treatments, and interventions. This service may be provided to individuals, communities, educational institutions, and organizations.


Single Consultations
Dr. Cox provides individual consultations or “second opinions” for patients who are already under the care of a psychiatrist. This consultation will include a thorough review of the patient’s records, communication with the patient’s current treatment providers, and a comprehensive evaluation of the patient. A diagnostic formulation and treatment recommendations will then be presented to the patient and the patient’s treatment providers.
Forensic/Legal Consultations
Dr. Cox is available for forensic/legal consultations, risk assessment, competency, and expert witness testimony/opinions.
