About Us

About Dr. Todd S. Cox

Dr. Todd Cox is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  He remained at Johns Hopkins for his residency training and served as the psychiatric chief resident.  Following his training, he was appointed to the Johns Hopkins faculty and treated adolescents and adults with multiple psychiatric issues, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders, chronic pain, and comorbid medical issues.  Dr. Cox relocated to Washington, D.C. and joined the Georgetown University psychiatry faculty, serving as Medical Director of Georgetown's hospital-based programs and oncology program. At this time, Dr. Cox cares for patients in his private practice located in downtown Washington, D.C.

Dr. Cox has been honored by numerous institutions and organizations for his patient care, teaching, mentorship, and leadership. He is on the faculties of both The Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University, having received recognition by both institutions for his teaching and mentorship of students, residents, fellows, and faculty. He has achieved distinction and served in leadership roles in the Washington Psychiatric Society, the American Psychiatric Association, and the prestigious American College of Psychiatrists. Additionally, he has been selected as a “Top Doctor” over the years by numerous media outlets, including Washingtonian Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, and Washington Checkbook.
